I love to cook, eat, and write. I am not a professionally trained chef, but I am quite familiar with the world of food service, including being ServSafe certified, and have always had a knack for cooking for a crowd.
I have explored many “alternative diets” from which I discovered a wealth of ingredients, seasonings, and cooking techniques. I also love to take “food art” pictures which I use on Wendy’s Food Blog and related social media.
Note: I am just getting my food blog and related social media back up and running, but you can see some photos on my Instagram and Facebook pages.
My first food-writing gig was writing the Herb of the Month column for local food coops in the Boston/Cambridge area in the 1990s. I then went on to create my first cooking blog as a hobby versus a business venture, and then because the Market Manager of the Wakefield Farmers Market from 2011-2019. This job got me even more interested in the world of food, especially in relation to local food and farms, local food systems and beyond.
I am now looking to focus on writing about food-related topics and hope to add many more samples to the list below.
