Research

  • As Senior Researcher at Kurzweil Technologies, I did research for Ray Kurzweil’s book The Age of Spiritual Machines as well as for various Kurzweil websites and other projects. (1998-2021)

Fact-checking

  • I publish a Substack newsletter designed for busy people who want to “do something” that offers (among other things) education and vetted “one-minute activist” opportunities to take effective action in our world. wendydennis.substack.com (2022-present)

Persuasive Writing

  •  Wrote winning grant proposals as the Executive Director of Cooperative Artists Institute. (1993-1997) and did the same for various non-profit organizations on a volunteer basis. (1995-2020)
  • Implemented successful fundraising and volunteer recruitment appeals for the Wakefield Food Pantry, Wakefield Farmers Market, and the Linden Tree Coffeehouse. (1995-2020)

Technical Writing

  • Authored the manual and provided online technical support for Ray Kurzweil’s Cybernetic Poet.

Marketing

  • Provided all marketing materials in my position as Market Manager of the Wakefield (MA) Farmers Market, (2011-2019) which more than doubled in size in 9 years, and as the office manager for Breton Electric, my husband’s electrical contracting company, which won a number of awards. I  quadrupled the customer base size over an 18-year period. ((2003-2021)

Public Relations

  • I was considered the “Face” of the Wakefield Food Pantry for close to 20 years, first as the key operations and administrative personnel (a volunteer position at that time) and then as a board member, officer (president and treasurer), and finally, as a community volunteer (2001-2020)
  • Designed flyers and brochures, created and maintained websites, and wrote newsletters and web content for many NPOs (1995-2020) as well as in my capacity as a farmers market manager and in my work with Breton Electric.
